– OUR MISSION –
Making Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Accessible to All
At Dunham House, we believe that affordable, high-quality addiction and mental health care should be accessible to all, regardless of language or income. Therefore, we operate as a registered Canadian Charity and non-profit organization, offering both private and public programs.
OUR APPROACH
Integrated Care For Dual Diagnosis
At Dunham House, our integrated approach focuses on addiction rehabilitation. For clients with co-occurring mental health challenges, we connect them with our trusted network of mental health partners for specialized care. This collaboration ensures a comprehensive path to lasting recovery.
– MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT –
Our Medical Framework
Our Mental Health Framework is built on early identification, collaboration, and continuity of care. Each resident begins with an initial clinical assessment, followed by a comprehensive evaluation with our on-site psychiatric nurse.
When indicated, psychological and medical needs are further explored through an appointment with our onsite general practitioner, who may provide direct referrals to our consulting psychiatrist.
This integrated approach ensures continuity of diagnosis and treatment across every stage of care, allowing mental health and addiction needs to be addressed together within a unified, ongoing continuing care plan.
– WHAT IS DUAL-DIAGNOSIS? –
The Link Between Addiction and Mental Health
Dual diagnosis refers to the co-occurrence of substance use and mental health disorders. At Dunham House, our focus is on addiction treatment. For individuals also facing mental health challenges, we provide support by connecting them with our trusted network of mental health partners. Through a range of evidence-based addiction therapies, we address complex conditions and help reduce the long-term risk of relapse..
– ENDORSEMENTS –
Clinical Best Practices and Academic Oversight
Dunham House is proud to be endorsed by leading experts in the field of addiction and mental health disorders, including support from McGill University’s Department of Psychiatry. Our programs are grounded in the latest clinical research and best practices.
