– PEER SUPPORT FOCUS –

Recovery Transition Program

The Recovery Transition Program is a peer-based and volunteer-driven program that helps residents transition from residential care back into the community.

Peer Mentors are the backbone of our Recovery Transition Program. They rely on their training and lived experience to help people who are dealing with mental health and/or addiction issues move into another phase of their lives.

Role of the RTP Peer Mentor in helping residents integrate back in their lives:

  • Model and assist in developing effective coping, interpersonal, and life skills.

  • Assist in exploring community and personal resources which would be beneficial to their specific needs.

  • Help break down stigma and isolation of mental illness and addiction that can impede recovery and increase chances of relapse.

– Connection –

Alumni Community

Recovery doesn’t end when treatment does — and neither does connection. The Dunham House Alumni Community offers lifelong support, fellowship, and opportunities for continued growth long after a resident completes their program. Alumni are welcomed into a community grounded in shared experience, accountability, and compassion, with access to ongoing meetings, events, and peer connection. Whether someone is newly transitioned or years into recovery, our alumni network serves as a reminder that no one walks this path alone, and that healing is strengthened through belonging, purpose, and continued engagement.
