About the Role

Dunham House is a residential treatment centre specializing in addiction and concurrent mental health disorders. Our programs are offered in English and provide individualized and evidence-based care at our serene campus in Quebec’s Eastern Townships.  

Our dual diagnosis program integrates substance use treatment while supporting complex mental health needs with our network of clinical professionals.  

We are looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and charismatic clinician to provide top-quality care to our residents navigating addiction recovery and mental health challenges.  

Our approach to supporting residents is rooted in a person-centered, integrative model that incorporates both evidence-based and holistic care strategies to meet the needs of the diverse population we serve.  

Our counselling program includes, but is not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT-informed), Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed), as well as mindfulness practices, solution-focused strategies, and life-skills training.   

Counselling at Dunham House is grounded in Five Core Clinical Foundations: Recovery Foundations; Exploration of Self and Identity; Understanding Relationships; Reframing Survival & Resilience; Core-Beliefs, Narratives, and Meaning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily Group Counselling sessions 

  • Develop and facilitate daily Educational/Skills Workshops

  • Manage a caseload of up to 8 clients for weekly Individual Counselling Sessions

  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and intervention plans according to Dunham House protocols and best practices.  

  • Review and evaluate clients’ progress with measurable goals described in intervention plans.  

  • Attend required supervision and continuing education opportunities to expand knowledge and skills.  

  • Participate in required clinical case conferences and staff meetings.  

  • Perform other related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor you report to.

Qualifications
-A Master’s degree in a counselling-related field, or a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a counselling-related field with 2 years of clinical experience, or a college degree (DEC) in a counselling-related field with 5 years of clinical experience.  
-Bilingual (asset) with fluency in English 
-CPR certification (asset) 


Schedule: 

  • 7.5-hour in-person shifts 

  • Occasional weekend shifts 

  • Start date: August 15
