In the late winter of 2013, an application was made to the Bell Let’s Talk program, to procure funding for our fledgling Equine Assisted Therapy Program.
This program is dedicated to assisting those with Mental Health issues and concurrent disorders find a way to improve their lives with the aid of horses.
Ms. Heidi Lein developed our program and sourced Ms. Helen Zaikoff of Echoview Farms in nearby Knowlton, QC.
The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, the chairman of our Advisory Board, accepted this check from Bell Canada in the amount of $13,000 to be used exclusively for our Equine Assisted Therapy Program, the first of its kind in Quebec.
In 2017, we expanded our therapy program to include an additional Equestrian Centre; Vigilmar Stables in nearby Sutton, QC.
In November of 2018, we will complete our 5th year of this wonderful and very effective program. To date, over 100 residents of our house have taken part in this program.
We are incredibly grateful for the Bell Let’s Talk program for helping us get this program off the ground.
